About Us

The Shallowford Group is a search fund looking to acquire one exceptional business and own it for the long term.

Unlike a traditional private equity firm, we operate as an evergreen owner. There is no fund deadline and no plan to sell. That lets us make decisions for the long-term health of the business and the people who depend on it, including employees, customers, and the community.

We invest personal capital in the business we acquire and structure the transaction around the owner's goals, whether that means a full exit, a gradual handoff, or a continued role. Our priority is continuity: keeping the team, customers, and reputation that made the business successful, and building on them carefully.

The Shallowford Group, named after Shallowford Road in Georgia where its founders grew up, is a reminder that lasting businesses are built on relationships and roots in their community.

Rohan Mondal

Managing Partner

With extensive experience in investing across the financial services, business services, and home services industries, Rohan has successfully backed and managed strategy for businesses that span the size spectrum, totaling over $1 billion in investments. His tenure at JM Family Enterprises, a $10 billion AUM single-family office, has endowed him with a deep understanding of family-owned businesses and the strategies needed to perpetuate their legacies. Before joining JM Family Enterprises, he worked as an investment banker at Bank of America in New York City. Rohan holds a BS in Business with concentrations in finance and economics from the Stern School of Business at New York University.

In his free time, Rohan enjoys playing tennis, pickleball, and squash—basically, any sport that involves a racket!
